Ready, Set, January!

January: a month in Review!
My new goal is to blog at least once a month just to keep up one what we've been doing!

On New years eve my dad and Kanchana came to visit! we had a good time just hanging out and spending time together. Kanchana gave me and Dallin hair cuts and did a great job. We did a lot of eating, we must be related because we both all love food! Besides eating we made a few trips to home depot to help us get ready for the next week.

Along with going out to eat, Kanchana made us some AWESOME Thai food! I wish I would have gone to my grandmas house that day to learn how to make all this. So Yummy!

On top of that my Dad taught me how to make these! I've needed to learn self control since then!

The week after my dad left, Dave's Dad and brother came to town to drill holes in my ceiling!

All the while my semi finished basement became a construction zone. It looks bad now but it's going to be amazing when its done.

While Dave's Family was here we blessed Emma. I warned the bishop we were going to have a few extra people at church that day. I didn't realize those few would turn into 32! She was blessed by her dad and there were 13 Priesthood holders in her blessing circle. Thank you to everyone who came to share that special day with us. 

Emma decided to give us her first smiles this month!

 I taught Dallin how to play monopoly. I think he only likes it because it says FedEx on it. None the less he asks to play it almost every day now.

I straightened Sarah's hair and it is SOOO Long and so Pretty! I don't really like guns but Dave might have to buy one for when she starts dating. Sarah has really become a great helper and has calmed down her evil tendencies (a little) and has taken on the roll of big sister quite well. 

 

Dallin started speech school this month to help him work on saying his letter sounds correctly. He goes to class for one hour a week every monday and the rest is "homework" which is a little hit and miss because he doesn't like me helping him. And since he didn't have a hard enough time with his "S" sounds he lost his first tooth! Poor kid we kept telling him to put his teeth together and say "sssss" and he just says, I can't with a loose tooth. 

We also had parent teacher conference for Dallin at school and he is doing very well. Everyone loves him and it seems he has picked up Dave's quick wit and humor. His teacher told me one day he was asked to do some writing and he replied "you're killing me, just killing me" I need to write down more of the things he says because they are hilarious.

Random:

We all really like to watch Phineas and Ferb. If you know the show you'll know what I'm talking about if not then just skip this part! At any given point during the day you can hear Dallin and Sarah quoting the show. Recently there was an episode where they all were back in time living like cavemen and speaking, rather grunting like cavemen. Sarah acted out a scene from this episode while we were at walmart. saying "eh, bleh, eh, bleh, Eh.... Bleh..... EH... BLEH" It was quite funny once I realize what she was doing.  Watch the following clip to know what I'm talking about!

And that was January in a nut shell!

I had a baby..... 2 months ago!

As far as the blogging world goes I am not the best. Think about it, I posted in November-ish and then in December-ish and completely skipped the fact that I gave birth to a wonderful little girl! All these people who find time and motivation to blog about every aspect of their lives I give you kudos. Now on to this adorable baby of mine. Here are some highlights from her birth! Emma Renee Johnson was born on November 26th at 10:30ish in the morning. She weighed 8lbs and 5oz I guessed 8lbs 6oz so I was pretty close and she was 20.5 inches long. Her birth was a completely planned c-section and it went amazingly well. I was mentally prepared and I had a ton of things at home prepared. I made freezer meals, I stocked up on diapers (except for newborn size, who knows why?) I had a bag for the hospital with the things I knew I wanted and things that I knew I would need. The worst part about the whole day was my IV. I had to be stuck 3 times and it still hurt after it was in. I felt really great after she was born. Over all a great experience!

Welcome to the Family little one!

Christmas 2011!

 There is so much going on our house, well not really but with a newborn it seems like I'm always doing something! Here's some of the things we did this month. We sent letters to Santa at the Macy's mailbox. The kids asked for "big screens" a toy they saw while we were at walmart earlier that day. (me already knowing they were going to get it) Its practically an iPad for kids!

 

They were so excited to draw pictures and help me write their letters. I wish I would have taken a picture of both the letters they were very cute! 

We of course had to visit the big man himself! This was at Grandma Fowks' living center. He was a very friendly Santa! 

 On Christmas Eve the kids opened 2 presents. One from Grandpa Jakeman, a recordable book and him reading The Night Before Christmas. It was a very sweet and thoughtful gift. Thanks Dad! And the second gift: New Jammies. Zipper Jammies as Sarah likes to call them! I'm excited to have 2 girls now to dress them exactly the same, I can't resist!

 The kids made out like bandits again this year, This is only half of what they received. Thanks to Aunt Sharon the kids should not have a hard time finding something to do all year long. I think I'm going to put some of the toys away and pull them out through out the year. ( I say that now, we'll see if I actually do it!)

Little Emma is 1 whole month old now. Seriously Time has flown by and I am busy busy busy. I debated writing this blog post vs. going to bed. I want to use this blog to document our lives and keep some kind of Journal so the blog won tonight.

This is the day after Christmas, you couldn't pull Dallin away from his  "big screen" I finally told him we needed to play with some of his other toys and he finally agreed. Once school starts back up and life gets back to normal then I'll start limiting electronic toy time! As you can see I have no pictures of Sarah from Christmas day, thats how busy my life gets. Chirstmas morning she was so cute, she woke up before everyone else so I went and sat with her in the living room and we admired the tree all lit up and all of the presents underneath. She was so excited to know that someone had gotten her presents because she had gotten one for them too. After everyone was up and moving and present unwrapping began she didn't hesitate to rip them open. When she opened the gift from Dallin she ran to him and gave him the biggest hug and said "oh THANK YOU Dallin!" it was a very sweet moment. Dallin on the other hand didn't want to open his presents, he was content to put them in a pile and admire the pile of presents he had. He was careful to choose which one to open and once it was open place it into another pile of presents already opened. He was more willing to share his unopened gifts with mommy and daddy so we could open some too. Emma slept through most of the days events, which for her I'm sure was just as great as getting any presents! 

We all headed off to Grandmas house and met with all my family there. Ate some breakfast and shared gifts and good company. Then we all headed off to church together, it was really nice to have us all go together especially on Christmas. Sacrament meeting was a great program filled with music. Dallin did an especially great job singing as loud as he could. Even though he didn't know the words he was loud and it's so cute; its funny we couldn't help but laugh!

We rounded off the evening with a trip to Sharon's house where all the big toys were brought out! We had a great dinner of Turkey and all the fixings! Sharon makes the best turkey!

changes

There has been a lot of changes around the Johnson house. And they are not done coming! We moved to our new house about 3 weeks ago. FINALLY! after putting an offer in June we got word in the middle of October then we cleaned, painted and have been working really hard to get things ready for Baby #3 to get here! She will make her debut on the 26th of November! thats like 9 days people so ready or not here she comes! During all the chaos Halloween happened. And we love halloween around our house its just too bad it got a little over shadowed by moving so we weren't able to do as much as we would have otherwise. We did however dress up and have a good time at the ward trunk or treat. Visit Grandma Fowks and get enough candy from there to hold us over until christmas! I took the kids to Wheeler Farm where they had a hay ride, a hay maze and pumpkin patch. The kids had a great time and deserved to go because I've been so occupied with cleaning and what not.

I have no pictures of our new house, however I make up for that fact with cute pictures of my kids! 

Getting geared up for Thanksgiving hopefully we can do something fun! I'm going to look up some kind of turkey craft and make something with them. I really haven't been mother of the year lately because I've been so busy painting our new house with my mom. Speaking of my mom she's been an awesome help to me and I'm so thankful for her.

that is a bunch of my random thoughts for now. I don't know if I'll get a ton of blogging done in the next few weeks or months. I'll be sure to update about baby for sure!

And Mother of the Year goes to........

Drum Roll Please. HEATHER JOHNSON! and the crowd breaths loudly through their mouth.... ahhhhhhhhhh! Why you ask am I winning mother of the year?! Because of how awesome I am and all the cool things we've done this summer. It hasn't been a lot but my kids think I'm cool so thats what counts! I know before I said all I've been doing is sleeping on the couch, while that is true we have also done some fun things. I tried to make a cool collage of pictures of the things we've done but I couldn't figure it out. So you get them one by one.... the things that make me awesome! (In completely random order)

We went to the Gateway mall to play in the fountain, even though Sarah didn't like it!

We got ice cream from the ice cream truck!

We went to the "bouncy place" Kangaroo zoo with friends!

Got our faces painted!

We saw a couple of movies at the park outside, very fun!

We played angry birds with water balloons and chalk!

Played out new favorite outside game, hopscotch!

What summer would be complete without a box of fireworks bigger than you are!

Swam in the pool, a lot!

Sarah is a proud new "mommy" as well!

And to top it all off, what summer would be complete without a good wack to to the head and 3 staples in the back of your head! Poor Sarah fell backwards onto the fireplace mantel at my grandparents out. There was A LOT of blood so I freaked out for a minute then realized we needed a trip to urgent care! (thankfully my family was around and helped me stay calm)

That was our summer in a nutshell! Now that Dallin is starting school on Wednesday we might slow down a little we'll probably go see some movies at the dollar theatre because there's some good ones. And with a new little one on the way we better squeeze in as much as we can before I have more children than hands!
