Tornado Johnson

The past couple of days have been especially rough, Sarah is sick (again, story of my life) and So sleep is not happening at our house. This means my level of patience has been dwindling yesterday was extra bad, Dallin was getting into EVERYTHING under the sun. We were about to go out the door to have dinner with daddy and I of course had to use the bathroom before we left. When I got there discovered that an entire bottle (new of course) had been magically poured all over the bathroom literally. So I held back my fustration and started cleaning up. It would have ended there except that Sarah was crying, due to me not holding her, and Dallin kept entering the bathroom to "help" and was making the mess even bigger. I kept telling him to go away until I was done.
So while I'm cleaning up Dallin "helped" himself to the fingernail polish, obviously while I wasn't looking because it was in the same room that I was cleaning up in. So in the midst of the chaos I faintly smell the fingernail polish... Oh crap I thought. I found him in the hallway with the bottle and asked him where he put it. He led me to the front room right next to the TV where he had created his master piece all over the wall (of our house that we rent of course!)
In a panic I grabbed the nearest towel and thankfully got it up off the wood floors. As for the wall there is no hope. I called my mom nearly in tears at this point asking if she knew how to get it off. She came to my rescue with fingernail polish remover, no luck.
Mr Clean magic eraser and I have had a lovely relationship up to this point in my motherhood days... but no more can I call him my friend! So for now we have a wall that is painted sunset pink and a bathroom that smells like tutti fruity orange shampoo! Another Day goes on with tornado Johnson (as grandpa calls him) at the loose!

LAGOON!

I kept debating  back and forth if it was worth it for us to go to Lagoon. It's awfully pricey and it's HOT in Utah. But thanks to stake Lagoon day and a rain storm we had an awesome day!
First off on the way there Dallin fell asleep so Dave and I were able to ride 2 big kid rides while Dave's aunt watched the kids sleep.

Then it was time for rides! Sarah went on 3 rides total including the ferris wheel! She was so good the whole day! She got most upset when I tried to take back my straw from my drink.

Dallin's first ride by himself was bulgy the whale. According to my mom this was my first ride and her first ride! Way to carry on the family tradition! He was nervous at first but once he realized he was ok he was all smiles all day. He didn't even cry, now that's a brave boy!

The little roller coaster Puff the magic dragon was his favorite ride, every time he would get off he would yell AGAIN! This was his reaction to every ride!

This sums up Dallin's expression the whole day!

Around 5:30 a huge rain storm came in and we debated wither to stay or go, we ducked into the arcade for about an hour and waited out the rain. We also spent a "few" dollars playing Deal or no Deal. I now understand how gamblers can end up with so many problems. Dallin Played ski ball, shoot the clown teeth, Dance Dance Revolution, Race cars and some other games. I'm glad we held out because then all the lines were pretty much nothing. On his last ride on the flying planes he put his hands up in the sky all on his own doing, no prompting!

This was last friday that we went and he is still wanting to go back to the "park" So even though it was way too expensive, I'm so glad we went and had a great time. We will probably go back, maybe sooner than we think.

Oreo's and popsicles

I don't know if I just forgot how to feed a kid on a schedule or if Sarah just hates baby food or what the deal is. I'm sure by now most kids her age are eating sweet potatos, peas, bananas and other assortments of jared baby food. Sarah really wants nothing to do with them! But then again who would with a mother that gives you oreo's and popsicles! She chowed these down no problem, and actually would NOT let Dave take away her popsicle! So I can't decide for next month at her Doctor check up what to tell the doc that she's eating... I'll probably just tell him breast milk and baby food since I'll probably get the red light for feeding her table food so soon. I can't help it she reaches for food... so naturally I give it to her! Forget the Doctors right?! (as you can see I'm really worried... not so much)

Thankfully though her digestive system has gotten much better. A few months ago she had the WORST gas during the night and would wake up screaming. This was all due to what I was eating not what she was eating.

I'm happy she is getting bigger... more sleep... but she's not my little babe any more. Yesterday morning (or monday I can't remember) she was on her stomach and she pushed her self, some how, up to sitting! She is so close to crawling she can taste it! This is what I'm excited for, then hopefully she won't get so angry when she can't get to where she wants to be.

She turned 8 months old on monday. WOW 8 months I've been juggling 2 kids. I often am amazed and think about single moms, only because Dave works second shift and is gone all week during bed time. So to all the single moms out there I salute you. Bed time can get rough! I have not figured out a good way to get through it yet. All I know is that once they are asleep that is my time! I often stay up too late and that comes back to bite me in the morning but it's worth it because my kids are super cute in the morning!

on a different note, we were blowing bubbles the other day... again... (what else do you do when it's raining) and these bubbles were, I kid you not, bigger than Sarah's head! Dallin loved it! He loves bubbles any ways but theses were super cool!

On like the first warm day this year we pulled out the pool. To make it more interesting we added a slide! Even though it was super cold Dallin could not get enough of it! This is one of the other things Dallin LOVES, playing with the water inside or outside he just won't leave the water alone. Maybe all 2 year olds love water but I wouldn't know this is my first one. Hopefully before summer is over we can go to a "big" pool and have some fun there!

I can't leave out this pic with Dallin and his oreo beard!

Primary Children's Hospital

Last tuesday Dallin went under the knife... ok not really. He did however have surgery, on his tear ducts. I was doing ok the day of his surgery until they were wheeling him back in a little tikes push car and they said ok now give him kisses good bye. Then Dave's reminds me that this could have been the last time I ever saw him. Ok not the best thing to tell a mother as her son is having surgery. Well everything went just fine it took all of 20 mins for the whole thing. Dallin was such a trooper! He was really good the whole day, probably because Sarah was with Dave's aunt. So he was the only child! He played with the toys and handled the pre-surgery exam very well no crying or nothing, in fact he didn't cry once at the hospital that I saw.

It was so cute when he was finished he was laying in his little hospital crib with his propped up on the rail, jock the dog in one hand and a sippy cup of juice in the other. In all his groggyness he pointed to his toe where the oxygen monitor was glowing red and said "light on." He just wanted to be held until Dave came along then he wanted nothing to do with mommy. That is normally the case so I expected it. We chilled in the recovery "room" more like an open floor with 4 curtains. There was another little boy maybe 18 months old who would not stop crying until they finally said he could go home. Not Dallin he just sat there sipping his juice watching TV with dad! Then about an hour later they said he could go home!

When we got home you would not have known anything even happened to the boy! It was like a power nap induce by "air medicine" as they call it at the hospital. So now thats done and over with thank goodness! I forgot my camera to document the blessed event so here's my one lonely picture of Dallin in his hospital pajamas.

They did a really great job at the children's hospital. Thank goodness for these wonderful people who choose to work with kids! It's a very kid friendly hospital, I might just say this because it's the only one I've ever been to.

I felt bad because this technically was an elective surgery, but I felt he really needed it, his eyes were getting bad and staying bad almost all the time! Let's just hope he won't have to return anytime soon.
