Dallin Surgery #2

Disclaimer: This is a LONG post, mostly for my own reasons so stop now if you don't feel like hearing the WHOLE story!

Dallin to the hospital again. about 2 weeks ago. It all started because he had a cough for almost 3 weeks and so I figured that was not normal. We went to an all new Dr. because I was just ready for a change and our other Dr. was a pretty far drive. So we had an appointment on monday where Dr. didn't know exactly what was wrong with Dallin so refered us to and Ear Nose Throat doc. But he checked Sarah and told me she had an ear infection.. Great!

Got medicine for her and then took Dallin to the ENT that wednesday. From just looking at him the doc knew he needed his tonsils out. His tonsils were HUGE, even I could tell! His speech, hearing, drooling, snoring, mouth breathing, sleeping trouble (most likely it was sleep apnea), This was all caused by his tonsils and adnoids. Plus he has constant fluid in his ears. So we scheduled surgery for that Friday (tonsils, adnoids and tubes in his ears). Yes this was all in one week.

So we waited all day for a 3pm surgery time with no food, but he

great. Great until it was time to take him back for the surgery so they gave him some "happy medicine" and boy he didn't have a care in the world! He tried to sit up in his wagon and tipped over and bonked his head and he insisted "I'm ok, I'm ok" in such a cute way.

After surgery he was upset which is normal but he was more focused on the IV in his hand than anything else. He drank 2 slurpees and a whole glass of apple juice. But the nurse would not move his IV to his foot when I asked her to.. I was thinking "come on, its my kid just do it! I'll deal with the poke" no luck. 10 mins later we had a nurse change. The new nurse... LOVE HER! Because he had drank so much she took out the IV no questions asked. So by 3 hours after surgery he was in the hospital play room running around like nothing happened.

I'm sure that was mostly due to all the drugs he had been given to help with the pain. I felt so blessed because there was another little girl in the play room with us who had the same surgery the tuesday before and was still in the hospital with an IV in her foot and I could tell she hated it. That is why Dallin is my champion!

We went home that night which I was so grateful for, Hospital bed and sleeping was not going to happen. He is fully recovered and now thinks he should be spoiled ALL the time and get slurpees on demand! But he has improved 2oo percent, He does not drool anymore! He stopped snoring that night we noticed the way he says some words is more correct now than it had been saying them. I'm so grateful for the Doctors that helped with this whole process. Hopefully we will all start being more healthy.

The Childrens Museum

After a LOT of things going on at our house I finally feel like I have time to update the world on our lives. I've been looking for a job lately so Dave can work just one job and not two. So I decided to take the kids to the childrens museum with my sister a while ago. I had never been and had heard mixed reviews. Compared to the only other museum I've been to this one is smaller. But I really liked it. The kids LOVED it!

Sarah really started walking while we were there using one of the shopping karts, she was mad when it was time to go home. There were a lot of fun things for them to do. Dallins favorite part was the water "table" it was huge.

There was also a wind machine upstairs and he liked to put papers in it and watch them fly. Sarah's favorite thing was to try and run using the shopping karts.

was so much for them to see and do it was great. Now that I actually have a job I need to be sure and schedule more fun things like this for us all to do together

7-11

Today we were driving home from costco and passed a 7-11. Dallin then told me he wanted to go the the MOVIE store.... Confused I asked what you buy at the movie store? He told me Slurpee's!

So he made the connection between the sign and what was inside but Movie store I don't know where that came from! This is probably only cute to me but I want to remember it!

And at Costco he was very excited about all the "gamples" (samples)

New Years Tradition

I started this post a long while ago... seeing is that its about new years! For new years the kids and I went to my grandpartents cabin in Heber with all my family. This has been a tradition for a while now but I've only gone twice durring new years. It was really fun, crazy sleeping

bed... yeah) but really fun. We stayed up until about 1 in the morning playing catch phrase and laughing so hard it hurt. Forget about when midnight actually came we were caught up playing!

New years day we go tubing. This is not regular tubing this is ULTIMATE tubbing for a few reasons. 1. we tube down the street that leads upto the cabin. 2. we are pulled back up the hill by a snowmobile. and 3.

You go Super fast when you get a fast start using the snowmobile. I took Dallin down once going pretty slow and he loved it. So I'm glad we got some good use out of our snow gear at least once this winter.

There wasn't really much relaxing going on like you would imigine at a cabin. Maybe next time when we go for conference in the spring!

I'm sad that Christmas morning I didn't take any pictures. But we did use our video camera for the action that morning! I have NO idea how to put it on the computer. So this lovely video of Dallin singing Jingle Bells will have to do. He hasn't stopped singing it since Tiffany taught it to him!

Dave was not feeling well Christmas morning but he was a trooper and got up with all of us to see what Santa had brought! A new play kitchen, Trucks, dolls, puzzles, books and clothes. It was nice being with my family again this year. It is totally different than Dave's family but that is ok its not bad just different. I miss all the food that comes along with Christmas in Indiana! It's just not a big deal out here.... We did however eat a really good dinner with Sharon! Dallin got a 2 train sets... one for Sharons house and one for Grandmas! Genius I tell you! I'm so thankful for the Saviors birth and trying to explain that to Dallin this year was easy but for him to understand I had to play up the "it's Jesus' Birthday" side of things and that is why we give gifts to others. And as far as Jesus being a baby.... he couldn't quite get that one, he would always refer to our photo of Jesus on the wall. It was cute! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
